The holidays.

My holidays were so fun. I went to my holiday program and this holidays we were fundraising for a 4 year old girl called Malaya who can't walk, talk and eat. She has seizures. She was born having a seizure. Malaya has about 60 seizures a day. I went to my youth and did heaps of fun things. I went to link of origin, and the saturday that just passed my youth had a Huge disco it was so fun!! I wish i could have went to the movies in the holidays and also see my friends that i haven't seen in a long time.

On saturday me and my sister went to indoor sports to support our friends who were playing in the link of origin tournament. It was so fun I got to see all my youth friends and all my youth family as well. I also got to watch Jireh who is now walking.Me and Jireh went into junglerama for an hour it was so fun!!!

How to use piktochart.

Piktochart is a website where you can make posters and you can make it look really interesting.
You can add colours to your words and the background and to the shapes.You can also insert texts on the shapes.
You can add pictures and images that are on the pictochart website.
You can also make your own images out of shapes e.g.I made a cloud out of circles.
My poster ended up looking rally cool because the website had everything that i wanted on my poster.I also really like how there were lots and lots of fonts to choose out of.
You don't have to worry if you don't save your work because there is a autosave,so whenever you add something to your poster it saves automatically.
It is really good to use if you have an assignment or inquiry presentation to present to your class or to the public.

Baby jirehs feeding tube!!!

I have finally found 2 picture of jirehs feeding tube!!! It is in the backround of these pictures of jireh and her mum   coral.

Today was really cool because i got to go to baby jirehs house to visit her.I had to go to her house because we won a prize from the prize raffle.It was $5 a number my mum picked 29&26,26 had a prize so aunty coral asked us to go pick up the prize.When i got there aunty coral gave us the prize and then told us that jireh was in the sitting room, i like literally ran into the sitting room and sat beside Jireh,she was connected to her tub and her little thing that had the milk in it was feeding her.Baby has to be feed the milk every three hours.It was awesome being able to see jireh!!!

Google search tools results!! :)

In the picture above is the results of what came up when i was searching clouds on google.In this picture i did not use the google search tools.Without the google search tools it came up with 1,510,000 results,which is too many to look through.It came up with results that i didn't need.

In this picture above i used the google search tools,it really helped because it came up with the things that i needed and it came up with less results.There were 493,000 search results which made a big difference.493,000 results are still too many results to look through but the first couple of options still have the websites and information i wanted.

Yay dancing with youth tomorrow!!!!!! We are practising for our disco because we are doing a performance!!!! We are going to be dancing for three youth sessions then the disco will be after the lessons yaya!!!!!!

Earthquake madness!!!!!!!!!!!

In Wellington this weekend has been having quite a lot of earthquakes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We recently had a huge one at 5.09pm tonight it went on for more than a minute!!!! I was in the room on my own then suddenly a huge earthquake hit. I think it was 6.5 magnitude.I hope everyone in Wellington are safe and are feeling ok now.Pray that the earthquakes will stop soon!!!!!

Baby Jireh part2!!!!! Race to taste!!!!!!

Baby Jireh came to the movies today!!!!! We raised 400 and something dollars!!!!!!!!!! Baby Jireh is hopefully going to be learning to eat soon!!!!!
Baby Jireh has C.H.A.R.G.E Syndrome Which contributes to complications with her feeding,vision,heart,hearing and developmental growth.Her family and friends raised $50.000 to get x2 cochler implants so that she can hear.She also wears a contact in her left eye,has a heart mumur and absent balance nerves.Her family are pleased at her progress this far and look forward to seeing her eat!!!!!

Jireh Winiata has been fed via tube for the last two years,relying on milk for her growth.After not having sufficient weight gain at four days old,test results came back a week later to say everything was functioning properly however Jireh was uncoordinated.Being discharged from hospital a month later,Jireh has since relied on this avenue of intake.

Her family have been in touch with a specialist in Germany who has agreed to see Jireh in september this year to help her eat and not have to rely on the feeding pump every 3hours.Markus Wilken, from Austria,specializes in 'tube weaning' and has worked with hundreds of children including 2 from Nz recently.

The total estimated cost for this process is approximately $15.000 NZD.There are a few families throughout Nz and Australia trying to get government support so that the financial burden is lifted from families who want their child/ren to eat 'normally'. You are so GORGEOUS BABY JIREH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Baby Jireh Race to taste!!!!!!!!!

Baby Jireh was born deaf.Last year they raised 50k for baby Jireh to get a cochler implant!!!! This year we are trying to raise 15k for Baby Jirehs rase to taste. So far they have raised 900o.6000 more then she will be able to eat instead of having to put a tube down her nose to go through to her stomach.Baby Jireh cannot see out of her left eye.Tomorrow we are doing a fundraiser for Baby Jireh at the lighthouse in petone because we are watching Monsters university!!! The doctors said that baby Jireh wouldnt be able to walk but she is starting to make a few steps which is great.Baby Jireh cant really talk either, all she can say is mum or dad.Jireh used to do sign language to communicate with her parents but now that she knows what sounds are she is starting to talk.Baby Jireh is 2 years old,and as you can see by the pics above she is totally adorable!

First marching practise!!!!

Yesterday i had my first marching practise for the season.Unsurprisingly i am the tallest in my team!!!! I was really excited to start the new season.This season i have to step up and help the coaches train the little ones because i am now an old girl that has been in the team for 3 seasons.I am really excited because this nationals is going to be in Wellington but we have to practise hard because we are representing Wellington and we cannot give away the championship title to another team that has come to wellington.We want to keep our championship title for as long as we can!!!!

Book review!!!!

I am so happy that i have finished this book i have been reading this week.It is called The day after forever.It is a really sad book but i still like it because even though it is a sad book it is a really good book.It is about these four friends Eddie,Jeff,Toni and Courtney. Eddie is classed as the handsome boy in the book, Eddie is best friends with Jeff that is dying of Leukaemia.Toni is loud and really outgoing but recently in the book lost her twin brother which was really hard for her because they were really close.Finally Courtney, Courtney is being abused by her stepfather and she has a really hard life. The four friends end up going to a lodge with Jeff because Jeff wants to be at the lodge where his parents past away, so Jeff can be close to his parents when he dies.Toni doesnt know but halfway in the book finds out and she is devastated.Near the end of the book Jeff has to break the news to Courtney. Courtney and Jeff are really close throughout the book so Jeff doesnt know how to tell her without hurting her but eitherway she still got really upset.Near the end Courtney found out and was really upset.At the end it was sad because they were all in the hospital room and the three friends were gathered around the hospital bed spending time with Jeff for his last few minutes of his life.Eventually Jeff pasted away it was really sad i almost cried.

The book im going to try finish in a week that i am going to start now is the Hunger games!!!! I have heard it is a great book to read. I have seen the movie so i hope it is as good as the movie.I hope i finish it in one week like i finished The day after forever in one week.

Volcano

St Bernards science visit

Yesterday St Bernards came to our school to teach us some science.It was really interesting to learn about volcanoes,how earthquakes are caused and lots more.I had an awesome time because i love learning new things, especially if its science because science has always looked interesting.I really liked learning about what happens underground.I hope they come again because i had so much fun!!!!!

Storm that caused CATASTROPHE!!!!!!

We were away from school last friday due to a severe storm that forced people in doors and cut power to lots of homes. The following is a piece of writing created from that motivation:Thursday was a very cold day for Wellington residents.It was cold and windy. It was also raining really hard!!!! The wind and rain caused a lot of difficulty here in Wellington because we lost power and lots of streets were closed.The wind caused a lot of trees and power lines to fall down.It was a lot of catastrophe for Wellington residents, as a lot of people lost power and their trees were getting blown to the point when they fell down.Roads and schools were closed along with shops that lost power.It was very cold.Quite a lot of trains and buses were cancelled.
If this ever happens to you, my advice is for you to stay home and stay warm because it is a lot safer and keeps you from getting stressed out from roads being closed and buses being cancelled.

Hunter

This term in Kakapo , year seven and eight class  we are reading a book called Hunter by Joy Cowley. We also have to full up a whole exercise book about the book. I am doing my comprehension questions, im up to chapter 7. I hope I do an excellent job!!!!!

Scotland!!!!

I'm soooooooooooo happy for my sister! Lesieli is going to Edinburgh in Scotland to do the famous march called a Tattoo!!!! Im very happy with my sister.My sister Lesieli has to take 2000 dollars with her. I'm very proud she really deserves it.Soon it's going to be my turn.

My Inquiry Debate

This term for inquiry our focus was humanity.My Question was Who is it effecting and why?? I enjoyed this inquiry topic because i got to learn how different i live to the people in different countries around the world.

Texas fire/Explosion

There was a fire/explosion in America!!! This time it was in Texas!! 100's of people are dead!!! it blew up 4 blocks of houses!!!!!!!! What happening in America!!!  Pray for the families who lost their homes and family or friends in this devastating ,tragic event that has happened.

Cross country practise!!!!

In Kakapo for the past few days we have been doing some running for cross country practise.We have to run two laps or sometimes even three laps.I stop for a couple of times to catch my breath and then I start running again.Its really good exercise as well (:

NZ Marching nationals 2013 Dunedin

Last Tuesday i went to Dunedin with my marching team called Glennette. I was exploding with excitement when i had arrived in Dunedin because i hadn't been there since i was 7. As soon as we got to the Motel we started practising for a long time.Thats what we were doing in the next couple of days.When it came to the qualifying day we were all soo nervous!!!! That day we did a great job and we qualified!!!The next day was the big day!!! It was Championship day, we did an awesome job and ended up winning both Display and Technical we were so Happy and so was my family. I got to stay three extra days to spend time with my family in Dunedin it was AWESOME!!!

Fun with Dad!!

Yay I am soooo HAPPY that I got to see my Dad yesterday, because I only see him every couple of months.We went out to Porirua to go and pick him up from his house. I got to see my Auntys and my cousins.Next we went out for Lunch in Paraparaumu.
What we decided to do next was go to the park and have some fun!!! It was sooo fun on the See-sore but we had to stop because Alize was crying. I ended up begging him to go on the Octopus with me and he finally agreed to go on it but we had to stop because he once again got a bit afraid. I dont blame him i was like that once. Anyway so after that we went back to Porirua and we had to drop him off. I really wanted to stay but he was working :( Thankfully I am staying there next weekend though with my Brother. My step Sister Adina is gonna be there as well along with my Cousins and Auntys!! So that will be fun!
